This song has been in my head ever since I heard it on Glee, which was a very nice acoustic version in fact but as much as I like Puck's singing, nothing beats the original. With that said, hope the lot of you are enjoying the weekend :)
Yup the song has been playing all over the place lately but there's just something about it's tune and lyrics that makes me delve into a pool of silliness and giggles (not to mention that it IS Friday).
Who's to say you have to be sixteen to enjoy a song like this (no offense to anyone) - I'm bordering on 28 and I've never felt wiser younger :)

Last Friday, my mum came over for a visit. Therefore, most of the weekend was spent window shopping, eating like there's no tomorrow and watching endless dvds. However, there was one movie that we absolutely loved on Hallmark called, The Lost Valentine.
It's a charming romantic story about a woman (Betty White) finding out what happened to her husband after 66 years (post-war) of labelled "missing in the call of duty". This endeavor indirectly involves a TV journalist (Jennifer Love-Hewitt) who gets her own lesson in love.
Betty White's performance is quite moving and it's not impossible to tear-up. Plus, you've got the dashing grandson who's obviously easy on the eyes *winks*. I would love to describe more here but it's a much nicer experience to watch the movie yourself and I'm very sure the movie would be shown repeatedly on Hallmark so you'll have a good chance of catching it.

Parts of the movie made me think about how people perceive the idea of "true love" and "The One" when divorce statistics seem to be climbing higher these days. Personally, I think the idea of "true love" is a wee bit corny and borders on fantasy and fairytale stories. Sure, it's a euphoric experience to get married to the one you love but the real challenge starts only after the wedding.
Most people see marriage as weddings and honeymoons as opposed to growing old together. Anyhow, here's one of the songs that was featured in the movie. Call me sappy but I do hope when I'm old and wrinkly, I get to enjoy a dance or two, with my husband, to this song :)

I've always loved the song - right from the minute I watched A Walk to Remember (released ages ago) but I can't decide which version is better - Switchfoot's original acoustic version or Mandy Moore's soulful rendition. Hence, both videos :)
Since it has been a rainy Monday morning, I figured everyone who's already having the blues would be even bluer today! Hence, my opening music track for today - 'Blue Eyes Blue' by Eric Clapton.
I absolutely adore the guitar plucking for this song and to be honest, I can just listen to Eric Clapton's soulful voice serenade me all day and night long and not get bored. In fact, if I could hire him to perform at my wedding, I would!
I was browsing for some oldies to listen to today, and I just remembered Robbie Williams' Swing When You're Winning at the Royal Albert Hall. His strong vocals are simply charming and needless to say does Sinatra's songs proud. This is one of my very favorites :D
When I hear the about the group Extreme, the one thing that comes to mind is their hit 'More Than Words'. But just last weekend, my friend Joe told me about another one of their songs, 'Get The Funk Out'.
It's only been a few days and I have not gotten bored of listening to it - probably coz the song has a very sexy vibe to it. I mean let's face it, a guitar makes anyone look good on stage *grins*.

I grew up listening to a variety of music including the likes of ABBA, Boney M, Cliff Richard, Madonna, Kylie, Tom Jones and of course, The Beatles. It was not by choice actually. My mum was a big fan of The Beatles and she used to play their hits back to back, every single day (and back then, cassettes were a big deal). It came to a point where my sister and I could remember the order of the songs and had the lyrics to each song memorized. 
Till today, some of my favourite Beatles tunes are All My Loving, I Feel Fine, Ticket to Ride, Eleanor Rigby, She Loves You, Paperback Writer, And I Love Her and Yesterday. Their songs are not only easy to remember but quite easy to play on guitar. I've recently started learning guitar (delayed dream of becoming a rockstar!) and have been practising with some of these songs. Obviously, only the four walls of my room are allowed to hear me at this point!

In fact, if you're a fan of Playstation or Xbox 360, you would know that the latest addition in the Rockband series is The Beatles Rockband. But before you get the game, you might want to check the track listing online for this game as I imagine, not ALL their hits would be included.

Today is just one those dry days, where you feel absolutely lazy, withdrawn, sleepy or in my case bloated (I just stuffed myself silly with Pizza Hut's Tempura Prawn Spagetti lunch set).
Plus, the weather is not really helping - I've always loved cloudy days with a breeze and this...HEAT...just slows everything down.

I was on the way to work when I heard the news on the radio that the King of Pop – Michael Jackson had passed away.
Shocked was an understatement, stunned and disbelief were more like it.

I grew up listening to his songs (which I still listen to till this very day) including his hits from Jackson 5 to the classic Thriller and right up to the rocking Black or White. When I was younger, I had the whole dance scene from Thriller memorized and used to perform it to anyone who was willing to watch (which was pretty much my family..hehe).
Regardless of the craziness that surrounded his personal life, he was undeniably one of the greatest music icons in the world. To know that he is no longer around to entertain and inspire, is simply devastating.
Rest in peace Michael – We miss you.
