Last week, the Autobots staged an intervention in the New Wing of One Utama where the stars of the day were put on display for DSLR and car enthusiasts to go nuts.

Good promo for the upcoming Transformers movie but I don't have high hopes for it. For one, the 2nd sequel was a total downer - mostly clashes of metal that you could hardly see who was fighting what and I can't even recall the storyline of the movie (that's how memorable it is!). 

I do like this particular teaser, however coz it depicts the actual moon landing. Hope the movie is way better than its previous disastrous sequel.

Royal Wedding Monkeys

While the UK souvenir industry have their hands full pasting William and Kate on every piece of silverware, glass, marble, plastic and any other element known to mankind, Kipling's latest addition to their range of accessories include - Royal Wedding Monkeys!

I think they're absolutely adorable and portable enough to carry around plus the fact that monkeys have never looked so cute before! Just a thought: Do you think the cuteness of the monkeys extends to the pic below? *winks*

X'Mas gift from Caramel Honey's sister-in-law

For whatever reason, watching a fairytale wedding is compensation to some of us who have a longing desire to have the wedding of their dreams. Then again, those who just got engaged may just want to check out the wedding dress design, in hope of replicating that for a cheaper rate. 

Anyway, I'm sure thousands of girls are gonna flock home to catch the royal wedding (hope the rain comes before 5pm) tomorrow. I'm sure as hell gonna come in to work earlier so that I can leave early to watch the live coverage!

Carol's Surprise B'Day!

Last Saturday night, we (my friends and I) threw our very close friend Carol - a surprise party at WIP in Bangsar Shopping Complex. Most of the fun was watching Carol enjoying alcohol and her brand new Charles & Keith shoes but the other part was catching up with friends that we've not seen in a while. So instead of blabbering on further, I'll just leave it to the pics below!

Superbowl ads this year have really gone up a level with even more creative concepts compared to last year's. Can you imagine, to advertise on a 30-second slot costs $1 million? All I can say is, brands must really put in their best work out there. This ad in particular, is my favourite so far :D

Gaga Gawks @ Grammys 2011

Trust Lady Gaga to constantly keep everyone on their toes at every red-carpet event. This time there were mixed reactions to her entrance at the 2011 Grammy Awards. If you don't know it already, she arrived in an EGG, carried by scantily-clad men! Yes, you heard me. She showed up, comfortably encased in a transparent alien pod of some sort.

Apparently, it was supposed to a womb-like egg because she was due to perform her new single 'Born This Way' and she wasn't about to hatch until her performance. Plus, if you looked closely, all the scantily-clad men and the woman walking with them, had prosthetic horns coming out from the sides of their faces!

But of course, you can't wait to see how it was when she finally hatched. Well, I saw the video and let me tell you, it wasn't that impressive (at least not by Gaga's standards). The song 'Born This Way' sounded very 90s-pop and it was so unlike any of her previous songs that made her what she is today.

At the same time, her performance was nothing much to talk about. Sure, she had some great moves (anyone with a choreographer would!) but there were no crazy, weird antics like dangling from a rope with blood smeared all over her or lighting up a piano on fire. To make matters even more weirder, she thanked Whitney Houston during her acceptance speech quoting "When I wrote this song, I imagined Whitney singing it". *baffled silence*

Bottomline is, the much talked about Gaga might just go Gaga-Who in a matter of time if she doesn't stick to what she does best. Sure she's only human but we like to think that she's an alien species that landed on earth with no memory of her life before the age of 20.

It's A Whole New Lunar Year!

When I was a kid, I couldn't wait for Chinese New Year to come by so I'd get to see lion dances all around the neighbourhood (although now it's becoming scarce).

I remember telling my dad my ambition *one of my ever-changing ambitions* was to be a lion dancer (or the person underneath the lion costume) and wanted to do all those cool jumping moves. He just gave me THE LOOK which I'm sure any self-respecting parent would do!

I can assure you I am currently not working as a lion dancer but what I can do is to wish all of you a Happy Chinese New Year!

We Ran the Terry Fox Run 2010!

The Terry Fox Run 2010 was an excellent success, although I have to admit Titiwangsa Lake's scenic route was a tad bit easier than the usual Lake Garden's route. The funny thing was people were literally stopping to snap photos, have breakfast at the stalls, look at the horses than actually running. With the amount of DSLRs snapping away, you'd think we were at a red carpet event!

None the less, we had an awesome time. Now, all we have to do is to work out and train for next year's run! :P

As stated by Daniel, this event is not for the anti-social or the nerdy. You do not want to make your way there and end up sitting in a corner with your netbook or iPad, completely oblivious to the people around you. So c'mon. It's on a Saturday night and you've got a long way to block the 27th Nov off your calendar, unless you want to spend the night sitting at home like a hermit!

Run, Walk, Wheel, Ride @ Terry Fox Run 2010

Yes, it's time to take your running shoes out of the box (or from under the bed!) and dust them off for this year's Terry Fox Run which will be held at Titiwangsa Lake KL on Sunday, 7th November. This year is marks the 30th anniversary of the 5km charity run and the fun part about this is, that you don't have to run. You can walk, cycle, roller-blade, wheel prams or heck, even salsa your way through the course!

The run itself is free. There are no registration fees. However, proceeds from the t-shirt sales go to the Cancer Research Iniatives Foundation (CARIF). So if you'd like (but you're not obliged to), you could buy a t-shirt (RM25 each) and/or make additional donations to the cause. Of if you have a Terry Fox Run t-shirt from previous years, you could wear that too :)

A brief insight:

The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox, and his Marathon of Hope, and to raise money for cancer research and awareness.

I participated in the 2008 run but could not make it for last year's run due to unforceen circumstances. So I'm very determined to make it this year especially since it's for a good cause. Every year the response seems to get better and better though. Malaysian celebrity, Yasmin Yusoff would probably be the MC (as she has been for the last few years). And according to some websites I read, there would be entertainment and light refreshments served (Milo truck!).

So block 7th November on your HTC, iPhone (or paper calendar!) and make your way down to Titiwangsa Lake, KL to help raise awareness for cancer research!

Girls & Guitar Fundraiser @ Laila's Cafe & Lounge

If you've got nothing to do on a Saturday night and you've got an ear for fantastic folk, rock and acoustic music, head down to Laila's Cafe & Lounge for the 3rd session of Girls & Guitar. As displayed above, the door charges are only RM20. Most importantly, proceeds from the door charges go to the PRIDE Foundation (Pink Ribbon Deeds) - a breast cancer awareness charity that aims to increase awareness efforts and improve accessibility to treatment and care of breast cancer.

I was at the New Wing in One Utama yesterday and guess what? In addition to a variety of sci-fi toys for sale, there was also a display of LEGO collectibles (which is like a gold mine to geeks) that looked so tempting I just had to snap a few pics.

Join the Terry Fox Run KL 2009!

Yep, the Terry Fox Run is on again this Nov 1st at Tmn Tasik Perdana (Lake Gardens). I attended last year's run (can't believe a year has gone by!) with my colleague and it was overwhelming to see the amount of support people gave for a cause I feel strongly about - cancer awareness.

I hope the support would be even more at this year's event. No registration or donations are necessary. However, if you would like to donate, you could purchase the official T-Shirt for 25 bucks each. The t-shirts will be sold at the event itself so if you couldn't get one ahead of time, don't worry. Check out this year's design below.

On another note, parking will be a problem. You may not be able to find parking inside Lake Gardens (even if you do, you would get stuck in a jam heading out). So I recommended you to park outside the area and walk in. It's a long walk so come early! :D

Da Vinci - The Genius Exhibition @ National Science Center

Like most people, I was never bothered to know much about Leonardo Da Vinci until I read Dan Brown's 'Da Vinci Code'. Before this, my only knowledge of Da Vinci was that he was gay and he painted the world-famous Mona Lisa.

Dan Brown's book made me do some research on Da Vinci and his controversial 'The Last Supper' painting, and as it turns out, he was not only an artist but also an inventor, scientist, engineer and much more. To learn more about Da Vinci and his work, click here.

If you're an enthusiast, you'd be glad to know there is an exhibition at the National Science Center, which is showcasing Da Vinci's work and probably a history of him. Thanks to Daniel, I've now got two tickets to catch the Da Vinci - The Genius Exhibition :D

Un-Adventurous Adidas Warehouse Sale

I just came back from the Adidas Warehouse Sale in TTDI and OMG! Xin and me took like 1/2 hour just to find parking and the whole time we could see people coming out with bags and bags of Adidas goodies - shoes, clothes, bags. It's like people have stumbled upon a gold mine or something!

I was actually after a backpack (for my Hong Kong trip next month) but I wouldn't have minded checking out the apparel as well. So during our lunch time, we drove over to the place to check out the sale (just like some 100 other friendly, considerate Malaysians).

The crowd was huge and the queue...let's not even go there. So Xin and me ended up ditching the whole idea and went to have lunch instead. I think now the Nike backpack for RM69.90 doesn't sound so bad (sigh).

25th B'Day @ Quatrro

Yep..I turned a year older last Sunday :) To celebrate in advance, my colleagues and me went to Quattro, Avenue K last Friday night. Check our the pics below.

I liked the whole Season Concept [Summer, Spring, Winter, Autumn] that the place had going. The club itself is themed Autumn, Winter - the bar, Spring - the lounge, you get the drift.

Although I did think the place was kinda small - and could not hold that big a crowd. And the dancefloor is where your table is. At one point, the place got so stuffy that it felt like there was not enough air to breathe in!

Anyway, we did have fun (the drunken way!) :)
